Reedy Creek Elementary School

It's A Great Day At The Creek!

About Reedy Creek Elementary School

Reedy Creek's unique design is the result of the oil embargo of the late 70's. This facility was modeled after a school in Reston, Virginia called Terra Set. The "shell" of grass and dirt is called "earth-sheltered." The school officially opened in the fall of 1981 with several state and local officials present. Originally, it had opened with a grass roof, however, our grassy hill had to be replaced in 2005 due to numerous leaks.

All Reedy Creek students receive either an iPad (Grades K-1) or a laptop (Grades 2-5) to enhance their learning experience and access academic materials. In addition, students visit art, music, physical education, media (Grades K-2), and STEM (Grades 3-5) special areas on a 7-day rotation.

Our campus is home to multiple Pre-K ESE classes as well as ESE Inclusion class models. Extra-curricular activities include: Safety Patrol, Battle of the Books Club, Yearbook Club, Cross Country, Soccer, Music Club and Track and Field.
